It uses `useChat` from `@ai-sdk/react` v3 with `DefaultChatTransport` → `/api/chat`, and `streamText` server-side via the Vercel AI Gateway (model resolved as a plain string `anthropic/claude-haiku-4.5`). The chat UI (`app/embed/Chat.tsx`) currently renders assistant text parts as RAW text inside `<p>` (so markdown like `**bold**`, `###`, lists shows as literal characters). The app does NOT use Tailwind — it uses inline-style objects and a small `globals.css`.\n\nI need to make 4 changes and want current, verified specifics (use the Vercel docs MCP search tool, the AI Gateway models endpoint, and WebFetch as needed — do NOT answer from memory for model ids or API shapes):\n\n1. **Switch model to Claude Sonnet 4.6.** Confirm the EXACT Vercel AI Gateway model id for Claude Sonnet 4.6 (is it `anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6` dotted?) by checking the live gateway models list (GET https://ai-gateway.vercel.sh/v1/models) or Vercel docs. Also confirm the direct `@ai-sdk/anthropic` provider id (hyphenated `claude-sonnet-4-6`?). I want to make the model env-configurable (default Sonnet 4.6, overridable). Show the cleanest pattern.\n\n2. **Render markdown nicely** in the streaming chat UI, WITHOUT adding Tailwind. Compare `react-markdown` + `remark-gfm` vs Vercel's `streamdown`. Key constraints: streaming (re-renders on each delta, must tolerate incomplete markdown mid-stream), no Tailwind, must look polished (bold, lists, links, maybe small tables), links must open with target=\"_top\" (the UI is in an iframe). Recommend ONE, give exact install + minimal integration code + how to style without Tailwind (scoped CSS). If streamdown requires Tailwind v4, say so explicitly and prefer the alternative.\n\n3. **Follow-up suggestion chips** (non-intrusive quick replies). I plan a server tool `suggest_followups` (AI SDK v6 `tool()` + zod) that the model calls at the end of its turn returning 2-3 short suggested user questions; the UI renders them as tappable chips; clicking a chip calls `sendMessage({ text })`. Validate this pattern: (a) is rendering a `tool-suggest_followups` part with state `output-available` and reading `part.output` correct in v6? (b) how to access `sendMessage` for the chip onClick; (c) how to show chips ONLY for the latest assistant message so stale chips disappear; (d) any gotcha with `stopWhen: stepCountIs(5)` when the model both emits text AND calls this tool (ordering/last-step). Give concrete code.\n\n4. **Concise behavior + a \"devis\" (quote-request) qualification flow + price→estimation redirect** are pure system-prompt changes (I'll handle the prompt text myself) — you don't need to write the prompt, but confirm there's no API constraint I'm missing for multi-tool turns (suggest_page + capture_lead + log_unanswered + suggest_followups all registered together) and that the model can call suggest_page immediately on a price question then keep chatting.\n\nReturn concrete, code-forward findings. Flag anything where the live API differs from the above. Do NOT edit any files — this is research for a plan."},"uuid":"36533991-565c-4885-9303-4839e5c80e1e","timestamp":"2026-06-07T16:47:17.335Z","userType":"external","entrypoint":"cli","cwd":"/opt/projects/.covalba-refonte-worktrees/tom-test-chatbot/chatbot","sessionId":"df169d01-2f45-42ae-bcea-94edf9cd2c59","version":"2.1.168","gitBranch":"tom/test-chatbot","slug":"brief-chatbot-pure-swing"}

BEFORE invoking, check if the question is specific enough to research directly — if underspecified (e.g., \"what car to buy\" without budget/use-case/region), ask 2-3 clarifying questions to narrow scope. Then pass the refined question as args, weaving the answers in.\n- vercel:bootstrap\n- vercel:deploy\n- vercel:env\n- vercel:marketplace\n- vercel:status\n- vercel:ai-gateway\n- vercel:ai-sdk\n- vercel:auth\n- vercel:bootstrap\n- vercel:chat-sdk\n- vercel:deployments-cicd\n- vercel:env-vars\n- vercel:knowledge-update\n- vercel:marketplace\n- vercel:next-cache-components\n- vercel:next-forge\n- vercel:next-upgrade\n- vercel:nextjs\n- vercel:react-best-practices\n- vercel:routing-middleware\n- vercel:runtime-cache\n- vercel:shadcn\n- vercel:turbopack\n- vercel:vercel-agent\n- vercel:vercel-cli\n- vercel:vercel-firewall\n- vercel:vercel-functions\n- vercel:vercel-sandbox\n- vercel:vercel-storage\n- vercel:verification\n- vercel:workflow\n- update-config: Use this skill to configure the Claude Code harness via settings.json. Automated behaviors (\"from now on when X\", \"each time X\", \"whenever X\", \"before/after X\") require hooks configured in settings.json - the harness executes these, not Claude, so memory/preferences cannot fulfill them. Also use for: permissions (\"allow X\", \"add permission\", \"move permission to\"), env vars (\"set X=Y\"), hook troubleshooting, or any changes to settings.json/settings.local.json files. Examples: \"allow npm commands\", \"add bq permission to global settings\", \"move permission to user settings\", \"set DEBUG=true\", \"when claude stops show X\". For simple settings like theme/model, suggest the /config command.\n- keybindings-help: Use when the user wants to customize keyboard shortcuts, rebind keys, add chord bindings, or modify ~/.claude/keybindings.json. Examples: \"rebind ctrl+s\", \"add a chord shortcut\", \"change the submit key\", \"customize keybindings\".\n- verify: Verify that a code change actually does what it's supposed to by running the app and observing behavior. Use when asked to verify a PR, confirm a fix works, test a change manually, check that a feature works, or validate local changes before pushing.\n- code-review: Review the current diff for correctness bugs and reuse/simplification/efficiency cleanups at the given effort level (low/medium: fewer, high-confidence findings; high→max: broader coverage, may include uncertain findings; ultra: deep multi-agent review in the cloud). Pass --comment to post findings as inline PR comments, or --fix to apply the findings to the working tree after the review.\n- simplify: Review the changed code for reuse, simplification, efficiency, and altitude cleanups, then apply the fixes. Quality only — it does not hunt for bugs; use /code-review for that.\n- fewer-permission-prompts: Scan your transcripts for common read-only Bash and MCP tool calls, then add a prioritized allowlist to project .claude/settings.json to reduce permission prompts.\n- loop: Run a prompt or slash command on a recurring interval (e.g. /loop 5m /foo). Omit the interval to let the model self-pace. - When the user wants to set up a recurring task, poll for status, or run something repeatedly on an interval (e.g. \"check the deploy every 5 minutes\", \"keep running /babysit-prs\"). Do NOT invoke for one-off tasks.\n- schedule: Create, update, list, or run scheduled remote agents (routines) that execute on a cron schedule. - When the user wants to schedule a recurring remote agent, set up automated tasks, create a cron job for Claude Code, or manage their scheduled agents/routines. Also use when the user wants a one-time scheduled run (\"run this once at 3pm\", \"remind me to check X tomorrow\").\n- claude-api: Reference for the Claude API / Anthropic SDK — model ids, pricing, params, streaming, tool use, MCP, agents, caching, token counting, model migration.\nTRIGGER — read BEFORE opening the target file; don't skip because it \"looks like a one-liner\" — whenever: the prompt names Claude/Anthropic in any form (Claude, Anthropic, Opus, Sonnet, Haiku, `anthropic`, `@anthropic-ai`, `claude-*`, `us.anthropic.*`, `[1m]`); the user asks about an LLM (pricing/model choice/limits/caching) — never answer from memory; OR the task is LLM-shaped with provider unstated (agent/MCP/tool-definition/multi-agent/RAG/LLM-judge/computer-use; generate/summarize/extract/classify/rewrite/converse over NL; debugging refusals/cutoffs/streaming/tool-calls/tokens).\nSKIP only when another provider is being worked on (overrides all triggers): OpenAI/GPT/Gemini/Llama/Mistral/Cohere/Ollama named in the query; OR `grep -rE 'openai|langchain_openai|google.generativeai|genai|mistralai|cohere|ollama'` over the project hits (run this grep FIRST if no provider named — don't Read the file).\n- run: Launch and drive this project's app to see a change working. Use when asked to run, start, or screenshot the app, or to confirm a change works in the real app (not just tests). First looks for a project skill that already covers launching the app; otherwise falls back to built-in patterns per project type (CLI, server, TUI, Electron, browser-driven, library).\n- init\n- review\n- security-review","skillCount":132,"isInitial":true,"names":["adapt","animate","arrange","audit","bolder","bun-to-next","clarify","colorize","critique","delight","design-taste-frontend","distill","extract","feedbackpin","full-output-enforcement","gsap-core","gsap-frameworks","gsap-performance","gsap-plugins","gsap-react","gsap-scrolltrigger","gsap-timeline","gsap-utils","harden","high-end-visual-design","impeccable","industrial-brutalist-ui","minimalist-ui","netlify-cli","nextjs-wordpress-headless","normalize","onboard","optimize","overdrive","paf-site-magic","polish","quieter","redesign-existing-projects","refero-design","scheduled-actions","seo","seo-audit","seo-backlinks","seo-competitor-pages","seo-content","seo-dataforseo","seo-firecrawl","seo-geo","seo-google","seo-hreflang","seo-image-gen","seo-images","seo-local","seo-maps","seo-page","seo-plan","seo-programmatic","seo-schema","seo-sitemap","seo-technical","shape","stitch-design-taste","typeset","brainstorming","brutalist-skill","check-conflicts","dispatching-parallel-agents","executing-plans","feedbackpin","finishing-a-development-branch","minimalist-skill","output-skill","receiving-code-review","redesign-skill","requesting-code-review","soft-skill","stitch-skill","subagent-driven-development","systematic-debugging","taste-skill","test-driven-development","using-git-worktrees","using-superpowers","verification-before-completion","writing-plans","writing-skills","handoff","deep-research","vercel:bootstrap","vercel:deploy","vercel:env","vercel:marketplace","vercel:status","vercel:ai-gateway","vercel:ai-sdk","vercel:auth","vercel:bootstrap","vercel:chat-sdk","vercel:deployments-cicd","vercel:env-vars","vercel:knowledge-update","vercel:marketplace","vercel:next-cache-components","vercel:next-forge","vercel:next-upgrade","vercel:nextjs","vercel:react-best-practices","vercel:routing-middleware","vercel:runtime-cache","vercel:shadcn","vercel:turbopack","vercel:vercel-agent","vercel:vercel-cli","vercel:vercel-firewall","vercel:vercel-functions","vercel:vercel-sandbox","vercel:vercel-storage","vercel:verification","vercel:workflow","update-config","keybindings-help","verify","code-review","simplify","fewer-permission-prompts","loop","schedule","claude-api","run","init","review","security-review"]},"type":"attachment","uuid":"6c3142df-73d1-41ca-8d88-48c8700f66b5","timestamp":"2026-06-07T16:47:17.350Z","userType":"external","entrypoint":"cli","cwd":"/opt/projects/.covalba-refonte-worktrees/tom-test-chatbot/chatbot","sessionId":"df169d01-2f45-42ae-bcea-94edf9cd2c59","version":"2.1.168","gitBranch":"tom/test-chatbot","slug":"brief-chatbot-pure-swing"}

Here are my complete, code-forward findings.\n\n---\n\n# Research Findings — Covalba Chatbot 4 Changes\n\nAll facts below were verified against live sources (AI Gateway models endpoint, npm registry, the published streamdown 2.5.0 tarball, and ai-sdk.dev docs), not memory. Where the live API differs from your brief's assumptions, I flag it with **FLAG**.\n\n---\n\n## 1. Switch model to Claude Sonnet 4.6\n\n### Verified model ids (live)\n\nPulled live from `GET https://ai-gateway.vercel.sh/v1/models` (no auth needed) and the `@ai-sdk/anthropic` provider docs:\n\n| Surface | Exact id | Verified |\n|---|---|---|\n| **AI Gateway** (string passed to `streamText`) | `anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6` (**dotted**) | ✅ present in live `/v1/models` |\n| **Direct `@ai-sdk/anthropic`** provider | `claude-sonnet-4-6` (**hyphenated**) | ✅ listed in ai-sdk.dev anthropic provider table |\n\nYour brief's guesses are both correct: dotted for the gateway, hyphenated for the direct provider. This mirrors exactly what `lib/model.ts` already does for Haiku (`claude-haiku-4.5` gateway vs `claude-haiku-4-5` direct).\n\nSonnet 4.6 gateway metadata (live): `context_window: 1000000` (1M), `max_tokens: 128000`, pricing `$3/M input, $15/M output, $0.30/M cache read` (vs Haiku's `$1/$5`). Tags include `tool-use`, `vision`, `explicit-caching` — so your existing Anthropic `cacheControl: ephemeral` and gateway `caching: auto` keep working unchanged.\n\n### Cleanest env-configurable pattern\n\nYour current `lib/model.ts` hardcodes Haiku in two spots. Make the model env-driven while keeping the dual gateway/direct resolution. The cleanest shape keeps **one source of truth per surface**, defaulting to Sonnet 4.6:\n\n```ts\n// lib/model.ts\nimport { createAnthropic } from \"@ai-sdk/anthropic\";\nimport type { LanguageModel } from \"ai\";\n\nconst hasDirectKey = !!process.env.ANTHROPIC_API_KEY;\nconst hasGateway =\n  !!process.env.AI_GATEWAY_API_KEY || !!process.env.VERCEL_OIDC_TOKEN;\n\nexport const usingGateway = !hasDirectKey && hasGateway;\n\n// Default = Sonnet 4.6. Override per-surface via env.\n// Gateway id uses dots; direct provider id uses hyphens.\nconst GATEWAY_MODEL = process.env.CHAT_MODEL ?? \"anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6\";\nconst DIRECT_MODEL =\n  process.env.CHAT_MODEL_DIRECT ?? \"claude-sonnet-4-6\";\n\nexport function getModel(): LanguageModel {\n  if (hasDirectKey) {\n    const anthropic = createAnthropic({ apiKey: process.env.ANTHROPIC_API_KEY });\n    return anthropic(DIRECT_MODEL);\n  }\n  return GATEWAY_MODEL;\n}\n```\n\nNotes:\n- `CHAT_MODEL` (gateway, dotted) is the one you'll set in Vercel prod env. `CHAT_MODEL_DIRECT` is only needed if you also flip the local direct-provider model; otherwise it defaults to Sonnet 4.6 too.\n- If you'd rather have a single env var, you can't — the two surfaces use different id grammars (`.` vs `-`). Two vars (each defaulted) is the honest, least-surprising pattern. Don't try to regex-convert dots↔hyphens; version numbers and model families don't map cleanly (`claude-3.5-haiku` → `claude-3-5-haiku` shows the rule isn't uniform).\n\n**Cost flag:** Sonnet 4.6 is 3× input / 3× output vs Haiku 4.5. For a B2B POC the latency is also higher. Env-driven default lets you A/B (e.g. keep Haiku for cheap classification-y turns later via a per-request override) without code changes.\n\n---\n\n## 2. Render markdown without Tailwind → **use `react-markdown` + `remark-gfm`, NOT streamdown**\n\n### FLAG: streamdown is Tailwind-coupled in practice — disqualified for this project\n\nI inspected the **published streamdown@2.5.0 dist tarball** directly. Its peer deps only list react/react-dom (no tailwind), and one docs page claims CSS-variable styling — **but the actual compiled components hardcode Tailwind utility classnames on every markdown element**:\n\n```\n34× \"flex \"      25× \"rounded-\"   21× \"text-sm\"\n 6× \"mt-6\"        6× \"mb-2\"        5× \"mt-1\"\n10× \"gap-2\"  ... plus \"prose\", \"size-4\", \"gap-4\", \"mt-2/mt-0\", \"mb-0\"\n```\n\nWithout a Tailwind v4 build emitting those utilities (and the `@source` directive pointing at `node_modules/streamdown` so its classes aren't purged), every one of those classnames is a dead string and the markdown renders **unstyled**. streamdown also pulls heavy deps you don't need: `mermaid` (~big), `shiki`-style highlighting, `tailwind-merge`. For a no-Tailwind inline-style POC, this is the wrong tool. **Don't use it here.**\n\n(streamdown is genuinely great — but only in a Tailwind v4 app. Your project is inline-style + small `globals.css`, so it's a mismatch.)\n\n### Recommendation: `react-markdown@10` + `remark-gfm@4`\n\n- Verified latest: `react-markdown` **10.1.0**, `remark-gfm` **4.0.1**. Peer deps: just `react >=18` — clean on your React 19.\n- Streaming-safe: react-markdown re-parses the full string on every render. Mid-stream incomplete markdown (an unclosed `**`, a half-written list) renders as best-effort partial HTML and self-corrects on the next delta. No crash. This is exactly the streaming-tolerance you need; it's what most AI chat UIs used before streamdown existed.\n- GFM via `remark-gfm` gives you tables, strikethrough, autolinks, task lists.\n\n### Install\n\n```bash\nnpm i react-markdown@10 remark-gfm@4\n```\n\n### Integration in `app/embed/Chat.tsx`\n\nReplace the raw text branch (lines 71–77). Render a memoized markdown component and override the anchor to force `target=\"_top\"` (you're in an iframe — same requirement you already hit on the suggest_page card):\n\n```tsx\nimport ReactMarkdown from \"react-markdown\";\nimport remarkGfm from \"remark-gfm\";\n\n// custom renderers: scope styling + force target=_top for iframe\nconst mdComponents = {\n  a: (props: any) => (\n    <a {...props} target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" />\n  ),\n};\n\nfunction Markdown({ children }: { children: string }) {\n  return (\n    <div className=\"md\">\n      <ReactMarkdown remarkPlugins={[remarkGfm]} components={mdComponents}>\n        {children}\n      </ReactMarkdown>\n    </div>\n  );\n}\n```\n\nThen in the parts map:\n\n```tsx\nif (part.type === \"text\") {\n  return <Markdown key={i}>{part.text}</Markdown>;\n}\n```\n\n### Styling without Tailwind — scoped CSS in `globals.css`\n\nreact-markdown emits **plain semantic HTML** (`<p> <strong> <ul> <li> <a> <table>…`), no classnames. Scope everything under `.md` so it can't leak into the rest of the embed. Add to your existing `globals.css`:\n\n```css\n.md { font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.5; }\n.md > :first-child { margin-top: 0; }\n.md > :last-child { margin-bottom: 0; }\n.md p { margin: 4px 0; }\n.md strong { font-weight: 600; }\n.md a { color: var(--covalba-teal); text-decoration: underline; }\n.md ul, .md ol { margin: 6px 0; padding-left: 20px; }\n.md li { margin: 2px 0; }\n.md h1, .md h2, .md h3 { margin: 10px 0 4px; font-weight: 600; line-height: 1.3; }\n.md h1 { font-size: 17px; } .md h2 { font-size: 15.5px; } .md h3 { font-size: 14.5px; }\n.md code { background: var(--covalba-cream); padding: 1px 5px; border-radius: 4px; font-size: 12.5px; }\n.md pre { background: var(--covalba-cream); padding: 10px; border-radius: 8px; overflow-x: auto; }\n.md pre code { background: none; padding: 0; }\n.md table { border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%; font-size: 13px; margin: 6px 0; }\n.md th, .md td { border: 1px solid var(--covalba-border); padding: 4px 8px; text-align: left; }\n.md blockquote { margin: 6px 0; padding-left: 10px; border-left: 3px solid var(--covalba-border); color: var(--covalba-muted); }\n```\n\nThis reuses your existing CSS custom properties (`--covalba-teal`, `--covalba-cream`, `--covalba-border`, `--covalba-muted`) so it matches the rest of the embed. The `> :first-child`/`> :last-child` resets keep the bubble padding tight (react-markdown wraps single lines in `<p>` which would otherwise add margin).\n\n**Security note:** react-markdown does NOT render raw HTML by default (no `rehype-raw`), so model output can't inject `<script>`/`<img onerror>`. Keep it that way — don't add `rehype-raw`.\n\n---\n\n## 3. Follow-up suggestion chips via `suggest_followups` tool\n\nYour overall plan is correct for AI SDK v6. Verified specifics for each sub-question:\n\n### (a) Rendering `tool-suggest_followups` with `state: \"output-available\"` reading `part.output` — ✅ CORRECT\n\nConfirmed against ai-sdk.dev chatbot-tool-usage docs: tool parts are `type: \"tool-${toolName}\"`, states are `input-streaming | input-available | output-available`, and `part.output` holds the `execute()` return value. This is exactly the pattern your `suggest_page` card already uses (lines 79–82), so it's proven in your codebase. One gotcha from the docs: **`part.output` is typed possibly-undefined until `state === \"output-available\"`** — always gate on the state first (you already do).\n\nTool definition (v6 `tool()` + zod, matching your existing tool style):\n\n```ts\n// lib/tools/suggest-followups.ts\nimport { tool } from \"ai\";\nimport { z } from \"zod\";\n\nexport const suggestFollowups = tool({\n  description:\n    \"Propose 2 à 3 questions de relance courtes que l'utilisateur pourrait \" +\n    \"vouloir poser ensuite. À appeler à LA FIN de ta réponse, après ton texte. \" +\n    \"Questions formulées du point de vue de l'utilisateur, en français, ≤ 60 caractères.\",\n  inputSchema: z.object({\n    suggestions: z\n      .array(z.string().max(80))\n      .min(2)\n      .max(3)\n      .describe(\"2 à 3 relances courtes, point de vue utilisateur.\"),\n  }),\n  // execute echoes input → becomes part.output (closes the tool call so the loop can end)\n  execute: async ({ suggestions }) => ({ suggestions }),\n});\n```\n\nRegister it in `route.ts` alongside the others:\n\n```ts\ntools: {\n  suggest_page: suggestPage,\n  capture_lead: captureLead(originUrl),\n  log_unanswered: logUnanswered,\n  suggest_followups: suggestFollowups,\n},\n```\n\n### (b) Accessing `sendMessage` for chip onClick\n\n`sendMessage` is already destructured from `useChat` in `Chat.tsx` (line 19). Pass it down to the chip renderer. Clicking a chip = `sendMessage({ text })` — identical to your form submit (line 45). No new transport plumbing.\n\n### (c) Show chips ONLY for the latest assistant message\n\nCompute the id of the last assistant message once, and only render the `tool-suggest_followups` part when the message id matches. This makes stale chips from earlier turns disappear automatically as the conversation grows:\n\n```tsx\n// inside Chat(), after messages is available\nconst lastAssistantId = [...messages]\n  .reverse()\n  .find((m) => m.role === \"assistant\")?.id;\n```\n\nIn the parts map:\n\n```tsx\nif (\n  part.type === \"tool-suggest_followups\" &&\n  part.state === \"output-available\" &&\n  m.id === lastAssistantId &&        // ← only the latest assistant turn\n  !busy                              // optional: hide while a new turn streams\n) {\n  const { suggestions } = part.output as { suggestions: string[] };\n  return (\n    <div key={i} style={S.chips}>\n      {suggestions.map((s, j) => (\n        <button\n          key={j}\n          type=\"button\"\n          style={S.chip}\n          onClick={() => sendMessage({ text: s })}\n        >\n          {s}\n        </button>\n      ))}\n    </div>\n  );\n}\n```\n\nChip styles (inline, matching your `S` object, no Tailwind):\n\n```ts\nchips: { display: \"flex\", flexWrap: \"wrap\", gap: 6, marginTop: 8 },\nchip: {\n  border: `1px solid ${TEAL}`, background: \"#fff\", color: TEAL,\n  borderRadius: 999, padding: \"6px 12px\", fontSize: 13,\n  cursor: \"pointer\", fontFamily: \"inherit\", lineHeight: 1.2,\n},\n```\n\nBecause chips are gated on `m.id === lastAssistantId`, once the user clicks one (or types anything), a new assistant message becomes the latest and the old chips vanish on the next render. No manual cleanup state needed.\n\n### (d) `stopWhen: stepCountIs(5)` ordering gotcha — verified, you're fine, with one nuance\n\nVerified against ai-sdk.dev/docs/agents/loop-control:\n\n- `stopWhen` is **only evaluated after a step that contains tool calls**. A step that produces **only text (no tool calls) ends the loop naturally**, regardless of the counter.\n- So the model can, in one turn: step 1 → emit text + call `suggest_page`; step 2 → emit more text + call `suggest_followups`; step 3 → (tool results fed back) emit nothing-or-closing-text and finish. `stepCountIs(5)` leaves ample headroom.\n\n**The real nuance — ordering of text vs the chips tool:** Claude can emit assistant text *and* a tool call in the **same** step. Whether the followups tool call lands before or after the visible text is not guaranteed by the SDK; it's driven by your system prompt. Since you render parts in array order, if the model emits the `suggest_followups` call *before* its prose, chips could render above the answer. Mitigations (prompt-side, your domain): instruct \"appelle `suggest_followups` en DERNIER, après avoir entièrement répondu.\" Belt-and-suspenders UI-side: because you render chips in a dedicated `<div>` and gate on `output-available`, you can also always render the chips block **after** the text parts by splitting the map into two passes (text parts first, then tool/chip parts) if ordering ever misbehaves. Start with the prompt instruction; only add the two-pass split if you observe misordering.\n\n**One more:** don't put `suggest_followups` behind a model that \"gives up\" calling tools under cost pressure. It's cheap (echo execute), but if the model skips it some turns, just render nothing — never block the answer on chips.\n\n---\n\n## 4. Multi-tool turns (suggest_page + capture_lead + log_unanswered + suggest_followups) — no blocking API constraint\n\nVerified: **no API limit prevents registering or calling all four tools in one turn.** Confirmed behaviors:\n\n- **All four registered together is fine.** The AI SDK passes every tool's schema to the model each request; there's no count cap relevant here (you're at 4). Each has an `execute`, so results stream back automatically and the loop continues (`Server-side tools are executed using their execute method and their results are forwarded to the client` — confirmed in docs).\n- **Model can call `suggest_page` immediately on a price question, then keep chatting.** Yes. A single step can contain text + a `suggest_page` tool call; after the tool result is fed back, the next step continues the conversation. The `stopWhen` loop only terminates when a step has no tool calls (natural text finish) or the cap is hit. So \"redirect to estimation page on a price question, then continue the qualification chat\" is fully supported within `stepCountIs(5)`.\n- **Multiple tools in one turn** (e.g. `suggest_page` + `log_unanswered` + `suggest_followups`) is supported; they execute and stream back in order. Watch the step budget: with 4 tools available, a turn that chains several tool calls eats steps. `stepCountIs(5)` is comfortable for \"1–2 tool calls + final text,\" but a devis flow that fires `suggest_page` → `capture_lead` → `suggest_followups` in sequence with reasoning between each could brush the cap. If you see truncated turns, bump to `stepCountIs(6–8)` — cheap insurance, no downside besides a longer max loop.\n\n**The only real constraints to keep in mind (not blockers):**\n1. **`maxDuration = 30`** (route.ts line 14). Sonnet 4.6 is slower than Haiku; a multi-tool turn with several round-trips on a 1M-context model could approach 30s on a cold/heavy turn. If you see timeouts after the model switch, raise `maxDuration`.\n2. **Tool-result ordering / final text** — same nuance as 3(d): tool calls and prose can co-occur in a step; rely on the system prompt to sequence (answer → suggest_page → … → suggest_followups last).\n3. **Caching unaffected** — Sonnet 4.6 has the `explicit-caching` tag, so your `cacheControl: ephemeral` on the system prompt and gateway `caching: auto` carry over unchanged. The large static knowledge-base prefix keeps getting cached at the cheaper Sonnet cache-read rate ($0.30/M).\n\n---\n\n## Summary of what to touch (for your plan)\n\n| File | Change |\n|---|---|\n| `lib/model.ts` | Env-configurable model, default `anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6` (gateway) / `claude-sonnet-4-6` (direct) |\n| `app/embed/Chat.tsx` | Render text parts via `react-markdown`+`remark-gfm` with `target=\"_top\"` anchor override; add chips block gated on latest assistant id |\n| `lib/tools/suggest-followups.ts` | New `tool()` returning `{ suggestions: string[] }` (2–3) |\n| `app/api/chat/route.ts` | Register `suggest_followups`; consider `stepCountIs(6–8)` and/or higher `maxDuration` |\n| `globals.css` | Scoped `.md` styles + `.chip` (or inline `S.chip`) — no Tailwind |\n| `package.json` | `+ react-markdown@10 remark-gfm@4` (do **not** add streamdown) |\n\n**Key flags:** (1) streamdown ships Tailwind utility classnames in its compiled output → unstyled without Tailwind v4 → rejected. (2) Sonnet 4.6 is 3× the cost and slower than Haiku — watch `maxDuration: 30`. (3) The two model-id grammars (dotted gateway vs hyphenated direct) can't be unified into one env var.\n\nI did not edit any files — this is research only."}],"stop_reason":"end_turn","stop_sequence":null,"stop_details":null,"usage":{"input_tokens":2,"cache_creation_input_tokens":671,"cache_read_input_tokens":64076,"output_tokens":6882,"server_tool_use":{"web_search_requests":0,"web_fetch_requests":0},"service_tier":"standard","cache_creation":{"ephemeral_1h_input_tokens":0,"ephemeral_5m_input_tokens":671},"inference_geo":"not_available","iterations":[{"input_tokens":2,"output_tokens":6882,"cache_read_input_tokens":64076,"cache_creation_input_tokens":671,"cache_creation":{"ephemeral_5m_input_tokens":671,"ephemeral_1h_input_tokens":0},"type":"message"}],"speed":"standard"},"diagnostics":null},"requestId":"req_011CbpF11Zn8WvwTevhah2bv","attributionAgent":"vercel:ai-architect","attributionPlugin":"vercel","type":"assistant","uuid":"f6d925e8-59da-4eb7-956f-665eea7fe6d5","timestamp":"2026-06-07T16:50:31.481Z","userType":"external","entrypoint":"cli","cwd":"/opt/projects/.covalba-refonte-worktrees/tom-test-chatbot/chatbot","sessionId":"df169d01-2f45-42ae-bcea-94edf9cd2c59","version":"2.1.168","gitBranch":"tom/test-chatbot","slug":"brief-chatbot-pure-swing"}
